This "Waterfly" backpack arrived as a small grey pouch about the size of an iPad with a black handle, and I was a little puzzled at first until I unzipped the pouch and the backpack unfolded from inside out. The pouch becomes the pocket on the outside of the backpack and the two shoulder straps are revealed. It all makes sense now. Once unfolded you have a decent sized (20L) backpack, big enough to accommodate a 15 inch laptop and a couple of "ring binder" folders with room to spare. It is a clever design and means you can take a small and portable pouch out and return with a couple of shopping bags worth of food on your back with your hands free. Great for cyclists, commuters, students, or just to take as a bit of extra storage for a long weekend.
Although lightweight, the material is strong and well stitched with robust well attached zips and straps that look like they would stand up to quite a bit of pulling about. I like the simple understated design and the grey colour, and the stitched "Waterfly" logo is a nice detail. It doesn't say whether the material is waterproof or not but I would imagine it is certainly "shower proof" as I splashed a bit of water on it and it rolled off.
This is a well made and useful portable backpack and the price seems thereabouts for the quality and functionality. I like.
