I bought this as a treat bag for my dog. When training him, I like to use dessicated beef lung as a reward. However, the bag of treats is big (probably gallon size) and inconvenient to carry on a walk while also handling a large dog that hasn't quite gotten the message yet.I took a page from a trainer that I know and bought this bag to keep the treats close at hand without having my hands full. I dump some treats in, leave the zipper open, and can reach in to reward my dog whenever he does something right. When I'm done, I zip it shut and hang it up out of reach. The treats I use won't go bad inside the bag so I don't have to take them out each time I'm done. Most of that probably won't apply to you, so here's what I can tell you about the bag. It's very light but reasonably well made. I wouldn't want to carry anything too heavy in it (I probably wouldn't go much heavier than a phone, keys, and maybe a bottle of water) but it seems reasonably solid. It doesn't appear as durable as the Jansport I had many years ago, but this one cost me less than $12 at the time I bought it whereas the Jansport would probably be close to $30 if you adjust for inflation (wish I'd kept it...)It's easy to adjust and stays where you put it. The zippers are decent quality and have not yet jammed. Not sure about the water resistance-- it looks like it would keep the contents dry in case of accidental splash or light rain, but I suspect anything more would soak right through. Since it's not designed to be waterproof, that isn't a knock against the bag, just a statement of fact. You could probably spray it with Scotchgard or similar if you wanted a little extra water resistance but I didn't bother. If you need a very inexpensive knock-around bag to free your hands on a walk or hike, this is as good a choice as any. It's durable enough to survive a couple of bumps and scrapes (or an 85 pound dog sniffing it and pawing at it) and works well. It's just the right size to give you more carrying capacity than your pockets can hold, but is smaller and lighter than even a small cross-body or sling bag. If you find yourself carrying enough stuff that you wish your pants had an extra pair of pockets, this bag will probably work for you.
