My new backpack is functional, perfect size for my daily needs (I don't like using a purse), my back feels better when using the sternum strap. But, I feel like the zipper is more delicate than other backpacks (might break off) and after 2 days of use some of the color appears to have rubbed off and is now a whiteish color. Hopefully the color issue doesn't continue .

I got this small backpack for use as a personal item on a flight inside Europe. It worked well for that purpose and for general use during the trip. It holds a good deal of stuff despite the small size and is reasonably comfortable. I haven't used it in the rain but like that it is water resistant and I also appreciate the sternum strap which prevents the shoulder straps from sliding off. There are a couple of other details that are worth noting. It has a handle at the top that comes in very handy. You can grab it easily from under the seat on a flight. I was able to stick everything I needed for a 9 hour flight in the backpack and never had to access the overhead compartment. I also used the handle to carry it in museums which don't allow backpacks to be worn. I found the 2 zippered compartments (a relatively large one on front and a small one inside the main compartment) very useful during the flight to get to items like chargers or snacks. There is also an unzipped large pocket inside which easily holds an iPad and a book for example. Finally the zippers have a nice and usual touch. The zipper pulls for both the main compartment and the smaller outside pocket can link together, which could prevent one zipper getting caught on something and the bag opening inadvertently.

I liked this item just to small for what was needed

I bought four of these, in different colors, ahead of an international trip, as these fit the size requirement for a personal item for Ryanair. Overall, super pleased with our purchases. They are small, yes, but you can get everything you need for a long plane right in them. With the front strap, we also utilized one as a day pack for wandering around London. They were comfortable for extended wear, from our smallest traveler (tween) to big 'ol dad. Across the four of them we had only one small issue, which was the strap of the key carabiner partially tearing away from its seam in one of the bags. Small issue, which didn't detract from my overall satisfaction. Would recommend!

It's not too big or too small and it may be just right for you. As a bonus the price is right too. I have 12 backpacks and almost all of them are name brands with prices to match. The Waterfly is not expensive and fits my needs for a minimal personal item on a flight. It fits under the seat while leaving room for your feet. The straps are not that padded which means it's easier to slide under the seat. It's not overly padded, but enough to protect my Ipad and Kindle while traveling. The smaller 12 liter size means I don't' over pack as I sometime do with a 16 or 20 liter bag. I don't find the sternum strap all that necessary on a small bag, but it's there if you need it or you bike a lot . For me it's just right, a winner and now my inexpensive go to. My only con are the zippers. They are not YKK and are not as smooth as I would like, but for me they are not a deal breaker. This light weight backpack just might be the one you've been looking for.

Loved this little backpack. Handy for short walks, can hold quite a lot too, water, snacks, waterproof fold up jacket etc.

Klein aber fein. Für eine Wanderung oder Klettersteig ist genügend Platz für Jause, Wasser & Co. Er ist bei mir immer mit dabei und ich würde ihn immer wieder kaufen.
